What is Laser Hair Removal good for?
Laser Hair Removal is performed to permanently reduce hair growth. Having a life-changing effect on those who suffer with ingrowing hairs, shaving rashes, folliculitis, irritation, unwanted thick stubble and the very common 5 o'clock shadow. The perfect treatment for those looking for super-smooth hair-free skin.

Who can have Laser Hair Removal?
Suitable for everyone, male and female, both face and body.

How many sessions will I need?
For best results, a minimum of 6 treatments is recommended, with intervals of 2-8 weeks apart dependant on the area being treated. The average amount of treatments required for success is 8-12.

Maintenance may be required.

Blush offers a pay as you go system with our SmartDiode laser hair removal, so no large upfront payment for courses are needed. HOWEVER, when purchasing a course of 6 treatments on the same area, you will receive 2 treatments for the same area FREE giving you a total of 8 sessions.

Does it hurt?

SmartDiode laser is virtually a pain-free system. As the laser glides over the skin, you will feel a gentle build-up of heat. With an advanced cooling system integrated within the handpiece, this gives maximum comfort.

Will I have to leave my hair to grow between appointments?

No, you can shave before, in between and after all your appointments, but you can ONLY shave,

no other method of hair removal can be used.

Can I go in the sun whilst I’m having a course of laser treatment?
Yes but please avoid direct sun exposure for 3 days prior and 4 days after your treatment.

Will I need a patch test?

Yes, a patch test will need to be carried out at least 48 hours before the treatment commences.

Does it work for all hair types?

Laser hair removal can be performed on all hair types except for vellus hair (soft downy hair).
No laser machine can successfully remove this type of hair.

Please also note all laser hair removal devices are not suitable grey hair.

Can I have the treatment if I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome?

YES, this is a fantastic treatment for PCOS, this will help to slow hair growth right down,

however, it will not be a permanent reduction.

Can I have Laser treatment if I’m pregnant?

As your hormones change through pregnancy, this can stimulate new hair growth so it's

best to wait until after you have your baby.

When will I start seeing a difference?

You will see a reduction in hair growth after the first treatment.

What should I do before I attend my appointment?

The area being treated must be clean and free from all topical solutions.

Please shave the area 2-12 hours immediately before treatment.

Avoid direct sun exposure on the area being treated for at least 3 days prior to treatment.

Tanning creams must not be used 2 weeks before treatment

No other forms of hair removal apart for shaving, during the course of treatment

No essential oils may be used 48 hours prior to treatment

If having facial lasering and have a history of cold sores you may take your usual medication 5 days before and 5 days after treatment.

If you have been on antibiotics, you must leave 2 weeks between finishing the course and having a SmartDiode laser treatment.

What should I expect after my laser hair removal?

Straight after your laser hair removal treatment, there can be slight redness typically lasting around 30 mins.

In the unlikely event, you may experience any prolonged redness or swelling after your treatment, apply a soothing lotion such as aloe vera or cool pack at home if required.

Do not shave or apply deodorants or perfumes to the treated area 24-48 hours post treatment.

Avoid hot baths, sauna, hot tubs/jacuzzi, massage treatments or athletic activities for 2-3 days after treatment.

Your skin may have increased sensitivity to the sun and we recommend that you use a factor 30+ sunscreen and avoid direct sun exposure on the treated area and sunbeds for at least 4 days after treatment.

If you experience (rarely) itching in the treated area, avoid scratching the skin.

You can take an antihistamine e.g Piriton to alleviate the irritation.

We advise not using any skincare that contains AHA, Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid or

Retinoic Acid (Retin A) for 3-5 days following treatment.

It is recommended that you always maintain a good skincare routine with

frequent hydration or moisturisation on a daily basis.
