HIFU FAQ's

Is HIFU painful?

HIFU is a non-invasive procedure, but some clients may experience slight discomfort, akin to a prickling sensation under the skin, as the applicator is used. Any discomfort is brief and generally depends on factors such as the treatment area, the client's skin sensitivity, and the chosen settings.

How many treatments are usually required?

In many cases, a single HIFU skin tightening session can suffice. However, the outcome can vary based on factors like individual response, post-treatment care adherence, initial collagen levels, and desired results. As a general guideline, individuals aged 40 and above or those with noticeable skin sagging may benefit from a second session around the six-month mark.

How long do results last?
Most patients find results last over 1 year, although yearly touch up treatments are recommended to stay ahead of the ageing process.

Is HIFU classed as surgery?
No while the ultrasound treatment does target the deep layers of the skin often addressed in surgery, it does not involve general anaesthetic or cutting the skin in any way.

Is there any recovery time needed?

No, there is no downtime or recovery period required. Clients can resume their regular activities immediately after the procedure.

What is the ideal age for HIFU?

HIFU face lift treatment is suitable for anyone looking to lift and tighten their face and neck while delaying the signs of ageing.

Clients in their 20s: People in their early to mid-20s typically do not require treatment to address aging signs as their skin is still producing new, strong, and elastic collagen. However, collagen breakdown often begins in the late 20s, making HIFU treatment in the late 20s a preventive option.

Clients in their 30s: This is when most people begin to notice ageing effects on their skin, such as mild to moderate sagging, loss of elasticity, fine lines, and wrinkles. The 30s are an ideal time to undergo treatment to delay signs of ageing.

Clients in their 40s: Those aged 40 to 50 commonly opt for HIFU treatments. Skin continues to lose collagen and aging signs become more pronounced during this decade. HIFU effectively addresses concerns, rejuvenates, tightens, and lifts loose, sagging skin.

Clients in their 50s: Significant skin laxity, deep wrinkles, and creases typically occur in the 50s or beyond. HIFU is highly effective in tightening the skin, offering a unique solution without surgery.

Clients in their 60s and beyond: Providing no excess sagginess has appeared HIFU is also suitable for older ages. Clients in their 60s and beyond with excess sagginess may require multiple treatments to achieve optimal results.
